Google Calendar

Google Calendar is the diary where Wably writes appointments and checks your availability. You connect it once, from the Google Calendar card on the Integrations screen.

How to connect the calendar

  1. Open the Integrations screen (from step 4 of the Guided activation).
  2. Tap the connect button in the Google Calendar card.
  3. The Google window opens: select the account you use for your diary and authorise access.
  4. When done, the card shows the status Connected: the calendar is active.

What happens next

  • Every booking taken by the assistant appears in your calendar.
  • When an appointment is moved or cancelled, the calendar updates itself.
  • If you move or delete an event by hand in Google Calendar, Wably notices and stays in sync: it always gives clients up-to-date information.
  • The assistant only offers clients times that are genuinely free.

You can check the connection status at any time from the Integrations card on the Home.

Appointments you write in the calendar yourself

Appointments you add by hand, or that come from an online booking page, can send the reminder to the client too. See Google Calendar appointment reminders.

Choosing the booking calendar

Many professionals have several calendars in the same Google account (for example a personal one, one for the practice, one shared with colleagues). That's why, once the connection is complete, the Google Calendar card on the Integrations screen holds the Calendar selector, where you choose which calendar Wably should work on.

  • The selected calendar is the one the assistant reads availability from and writes bookings to.
  • If you have a single calendar in your account, it's used automatically and you don't need to set anything.
  • You can change the chosen calendar at any time.

Why it's useful

This keeps personal commitments separate from your practice's diary: Wably only manages the calendar you've dedicated to bookings and doesn't touch the others.
