Time off, breaks and hours not open for booking

The assistant only offers clients free times. To know which ones are free, it looks at two things: the business hours you set in the dashboard and the events in your Google Calendar.

Weekly closures: on the Business hours page

If there is a day you never work, or you always take a lunch break, set it once on the Business hours page of the dashboard. For each day, choose whether you are open, your working hours and your break.

Holidays, days off and commitments: an event in Google Calendar

For everything else, an event in Google Calendar is enough. The assistant never offers a time taken by an event.

You want to block What you do in Google Calendar
A week of holiday An "all day" event covering every day of the holiday
A public holiday An "all day" event on that date
A free afternoon An event with a time, for example from 14:00 to 19:00
A regular commitment, for example a course every Tuesday An event that repeats every week

The assistant checks your calendar every time a client asks for available times: a new event counts straight away.

Watch out for all-day events

An "all day" event always blocks the whole day, even if it has nothing to do with work. If you add something personal as an "all day" event, for example a relative's birthday, the assistant offers no times on that day.

For personal things, use a different Google calendar from the one you use with Wably. Birthdays that Google adds automatically from your contacts don't block anything.

Events marked as "Free"

In Google Calendar, an event with a time can be marked as Busy or Free. An event marked as Free blocks nothing: the assistant can offer that time. This only applies to events with a time, not to all-day events.

Which calendar counts

Only the Google calendar you chose for Wably on the Integrations page counts. Events in your other calendars don't block anything.

At least one hour's notice

The assistant never offers a time that starts within the next hour. This way every new booking reaches you at least one hour in advance.

Frequently asked questions

The assistant says a day is fully booked, but I have no appointments. Why? Check whether there is an "all day" event on that day, even a personal one. It blocks the whole day.

Does the assistant keep replying while I'm on holiday? Yes. It answers clients' questions and offers no times on the blocked days. If you'd rather it didn't reply at all, turn off the main switch on the Home page.
