Hidden costs of WhatsApp Business API: who collects what

On WhatsApp Business API the subscription you see is never the whole bill. The difference between providers lies in what happens to the item they do not show you.

"I pay the subscription to you. Why do I have to connect the message payments to my own Meta account?" A fair question, and the answer saves you money.

Who collects what

You pay Wably the subscription. 29.90 or 49.90 euro a month, fixed, VAT included: assistant, AI processing, integrations, dashboard, support. No per-message cost from us.

You pay Meta for the messages. Directly, at the public rate card. We never touch that money. What that adds up to in practice.

The opposite model costs more

Almost everyone else pays Meta themselves and re-invoices you, often inside message bundles. It looks more convenient. The problem is what you cannot see.

You do not know what you are paying Meta. Meta's rate card is public, a middleman's price is not. When they sell you "1000 messages included", you have no way of knowing what those cost them. How BSP markups work.

You pay for the empty months too. A bundle is paid in full, even if you use a third of it.

The number is not yours. You find that out the day you want to change provider.

What you get

The public rate card, with no markup. The rates are verifiable online: what you read is what you are charged.

Your number, for good. If one day Wably does not convince you, you cancel and that is it: no migration to negotiate, and you disconnect everything from the app in thirty seconds. A provider who lets you go without friction has to earn every single month.

Every charge visible in your Meta Business Suite: how many messages, of what type, at what rate.

And artificial intelligence?

We pay for the processing, it is inside the subscription: we do not invoice you for the model's tokens.

You pay Meta for delivery. From October 2026 that applies to every reply the assistant sends, so a conversation that closes in three exchanges costs less than one that takes ten. That is why the assistant gets to the point: it offers the slots and closes. The rates in detail.

If you prefer to reply yourself from the app, those messages stay free.

On data: infrastructure entirely in Europe on Oracle Cloud, conversations that do not train public AI models and do not go through consumer APIs, context isolated per practice and per contact, encrypted credentials.

"Where do the conversations run" is the question to ask anyone offering you an AI assistant.

The payment method stays where it belongs: on your account, under your control.
