What WhatsApp Business API costs in 2026¶
A complete guide to Meta's costs, with no markup and no surprises.

You don't need to decipher Meta's price list. The calculator uses the official rates and estimates:

Indicative estimate. Calculation: 4 messages per booking and 1 message per reminder × 22 working days per month × Meta’s rate of about €0.0035 per message (utility category, United States — rate converted to euro). Every message is billed and the amount is charged directly by Meta to your account. Prices are shown in euro. The last row is a comparison, not a line on your bill: it is the total you would pay every month if the replies were written by Meta’s native AI agent, that is message delivery plus processing, which Meta bills per token (about 4-5 cents per answered message). With the Wably assistant the processing is included in the subscription and that amount is never charged to you. It applies only to the conversation messages of the bookings, not to the reminders.

What the cost is made of¶
You pay two items, to two different companies.

The messages are charged by Meta directly to your WhatsApp Business Platform account, with your own payment method. Wably does not sit in the middle and does not touch the official price list.

If you reply yourself from the WhatsApp Business app on your phone, those messages are not billed by Meta. With Wably you can do that at any time thanks to Coexistence mode: the assistant and your app live on the same number.
What changes in 2026 - The new rates¶
Meta has announced two changes to the price list, both already official.
From 1 August 2026¶
Meta's native AI is billed on usage, based on the tokens it processes.
The maths is less obvious than it looks: every reply processes not only the client's sentence, but also the assistant's instructions, the list of your services, the available slots and the history of the conversation. The token volume grows with every exchange. On a typical booking conversation the estimate is about 4-5 cents per reply.
From 1 October 2026¶
Automated replies sent inside the 24-hour window go back to being billed, at the Utility message rate. They had been free since November 2024. Meta will publish the final rates for each country before the beginning of September.
Watch out for a detail that often goes unnoticed: unlike Utility templates, these replies have no volume discounts. The per-message rate stays the same whether you send a hundred or ten thousand a month.

A concrete example¶
Take a practice with 100 bookings a month. A booking handled entirely in chat takes 4 messages on average.

The line that makes the difference is the second one. Across 100 bookings, pay-as-you-go AI processing works out at about 16-20 cents per booking. With Wably that item simply does not exist.
